Blend Types Explained
Every Blend is classified by what it holds. The type is derived from the assets you pick, not chosen freely, and it determines which restrictions apply.
The underlying distinction: oracle vs non-oracle
Stock Tokens on Robinhood Chain have a Chainlink price feed behind them. Their value can be read from an independent oracle rather than inferred from a single trading pool, which makes mint and redeem math resistant to pool manipulation.
Native onchain tokens generally have no oracle feed. Their price is only observable from their live trading pool, which a well-capitalised actor can push around. That difference drives every rule below.
Blue Chip
Composed entirely of oracle-priced Stock Tokens. Every component has an independent price reference, so no weight caps are applied beyond the general diversification minimum.
- 100% oracle-backed components.
- Lowest manipulation surface of the three types.
- Typically the least volatile and the deepest liquidity.
Degen
Composed entirely of non-oracle onchain tokens. These Blends exist for high-risk, high-variance baskets and carry the strictest constraints.
- Each non-oracle asset is capped at
30%of the Blend. - The cap forces a minimum spread of components so no single thin pool determines the Blend's entire value.
- Expect wide price swings and shallow redemption liquidity.
Hybrid
A mix of oracle-priced Stock Tokens and non-oracle tokens — the most common shape for a themed index, such as pairing megacap equity exposure with a few onchain culture tokens.
- The
30%cap applies to the non-oracle side only. Oracle-backed components are unrestricted. - The oracle-priced portion anchors the Blend's valuation even when the non-oracle pools are volatile.
What "flagship" means
In a Hybrid Blend the flagship is the single highest-weighted oracle-backed component — the anchor the rest of the basket is built around. It is what the Blend is effectively tracking, with the smaller non-oracle positions acting as the higher-variance expression on top.
