Oracle Infrastructure

Stock Token prices used by BlendPad are sourced from Chainlink price feeds.

What a price feed does

A Chainlink price feed is an onchain contract whose value is updated by a set of independent node operators, each reporting from multiple data sources. The reported value is aggregated, so no single node or venue determines the price.

  • Feeds update on a deviation threshold and a heartbeat interval.
  • The reported value carries a timestamp and round data that consumers can check.
  • Feeds are read directly onchain; BlendPad does not relay or modify them.

How BlendPad uses them

  • Oracle-priced components are valued from their feed for mint and redeem math.
  • Non-oracle components have no feed and are valued from their live pool, which is why they are capped at 30% per Blend.
  • Whether a component is oracle-priced is shown on each Blend's composition table.

Limits of oracle pricing

Oracles reduce manipulation risk; they do not eliminate it. A feed can lag during fast markets, stall if updates stop, or report a value derived from disrupted underlying markets. Blends relying on an affected feed will misprice mints and redemptions for as long as the problem persists.

Chainlink is public infrastructure that BlendPad reads from. This is a statement of what the protocol uses — not a partnership, endorsement or affiliation claim of any kind.
